If one has to build a cricket based statistics website today (provided the ball by ball is available somehow), what are the things/metrics/ details you would wish to see as of today. Other than espcricinfo, we are far behind other sports in having websites that analyse the numbers..

I currently teach “Introduction To Cricket Analysis” and have been following your content keenly. It’s a please to have access to your wealth of information and insight that you share.

The participants of my class come from a variety of countries, skillsets and backgrounds. Agents, Coaches, Players, IT students, and Sport Management students are often looking for a way to enter into a career in this field.

I have been fortunate to to a player and coach with IT experience and this provided a solid platform for starting a career in the field.

I have found that within the role of a cricket analyst, persons may have a strong point in particular areas, leading to a bit of specialisation in certain fields within the role, based on their background. Some have to play catch-up in other areas.

So the question is : What are the key competencies necessary to be a well rounded individual in the practical application of the role of an in-person cricket analyst with a team.

How do you determine whether a stat should be the primary focus or a bonus to the primary stat. For examples, we know that a high strike rate amongst batters is great and so it's gonna be one of the primary focus when selecting a batter. Whereas their average could be a bonus if their strike rate is high but a drawback if their strike rate is low.

Following on from that specific example, where do you draw the line? Virat Kohli the ODI batter has an average vs SR ratio that will probably win you most games but Virat Kohli the T20 batter doesn't right? So where is the cut-off for SR vs average? And how does it change across formats?
