Episode 1 will be 'How to become a cricket analyst' - please reply below with any questions!
If one has to build a cricket based statistics website today (provided the ball by ball is available somehow), what are the things/metrics/ details you would wish to see as of today. Other than espcricinfo, we are far behind other sports in having websites that analyse the numbers..
Hi Dan. I’m looking forward to this podcast.
I currently teach “Introduction To Cricket Analysis” and have been following your content keenly. It’s a please to have access to your wealth of information and insight that you share.
The participants of my class come from a variety of countries, skillsets and backgrounds. Agents, Coaches, Players, IT students, and Sport Management students are often looking for a way to enter into a career in this field.
I have been fortunate to to a player and coach with IT experience and this provided a solid platform for starting a career in the field.
I have found that within the role of a cricket analyst, persons may have a strong point in particular areas, leading to a bit of specialisation in certain fields within the role, based on their background. Some have to play catch-up in other areas.
So the question is : What are the key competencies necessary to be a well rounded individual in the practical application of the role of an in-person cricket analyst with a team.
