Analytics Question to my Readers
I have a view on this, but would be interested in others opinions on this hypothetical player who is just before peak age, not a huge sample of data but not insignificant either.
Learned model which is super effective and has no other outlier players loves them because they have had a recent genuine GOAT season in a decent but not premium T20 league.
That performance level would be miles ahead of international superstars playing the same role. However when that player has stepped up a level it hasn’t really worked out for them yet, but a small sample.
I would be really interested in readers views how to financially value this hypothetical player & any thoughts you may have on their chances of longer term translation to a higher level.

If it was an IPL auction, considering 120 cr, I would consider to invest at base price to 2-3x of base.
It will be determined on the bowlers he has scored against [using the football game equivalent of multiplying the ranking of the bowling attack from 0 to 1], the nature of the pitch he finished on, role a team is targeting.
Many teams do this mistake, like picking BBL finishers, who bat on flattish surfaces and big boundaries and are aided with the Power Surge. They pay top dollar to them to play on surfaces completely alien to them and they struggle.
Can the leagues be weighed by average bowling attack or batting of the league to be able to compare/predict output across leagues
