So I decided to start a Substack
I’ve been thinking about starting a Substack for a while, but with this summer featuring the English county season and then The Hundred taking place, the idea was put on the back burner a bit.
Now The Hundred is done and I’m back home from over a month on the road, it seems like a much better time.
I really hope you enjoy the regular content which I’m going to post. Most of my writing is going to feature on the analytics behind short format white ball cricket (T20/T10/The Hundred), with drafts, recruitment and selection discussion to the forefront, with a little bit of 50 over and Test cricket as well. With the World Cup and The Ashes coming up, plus the IPL starting in a few weeks, I’ll be posting plenty of articles and discussion about strategy for those particular events in particular over the coming months.
There will be a mixture of free and paid posts. I’m not going to lie, one of my motivations for doing this is to improve the monetization of my work. But, as I’m sure regular readers of my Twitter account and website will know, I do post a lot of free content and that will be no different here. Certainly, if you want only free content, there’s still be plenty to read, and I’m committing to make my first few posts at least on here to be 100% free.
Later on today, I’ll be writing my first proper post on Substack. A working title is ‘Experiences of The Hundred, and should there be a more competitive market for analysts?’. Slightly different topics contained in that first post, and it might be pretty long, but I hope you will enjoy it.
As always, any questions you can send over via email, or just post here.
